Special Message for SPēD Participants

Beginning 14 September, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), participants in the SPēD Certification program will be unable to create a new, or edit existing profiles in the Security Training, Education and Professionalization Portal (STEPP). This includes being able to select the "Yes, I want to participate in the SPēD Certification Program" box in the STEPP profile creation menu.

The down-time is to transition to the new STEPP location. You will not be able to login during this period, affecting account creation/editing transactions from STEPP to the My SPēD Certification (MSC) application. Account creation/editing capability in the new location will be enabled on 1 October 2018, allowing STEPP profile creation/editing transactions to transfer to MSC. Please ensure new account or edits to existing accounts occurs prior to the 14 September cut-off.

If you have an MSC account prior to September 14, 2018, the outage will not affect your ability to complete and submit Authorization to Test Forms, Certification Renewal Forms, or scheduling to test. MSC will only experience a stoppage in account creations/edits transferring from STEPP during this period. All other actions will not be impacted by the STEPP transition.

Again, all SPēD account creations/edits in the STEPP system must be done by 6:00 p.m. 14 September, 2018. Any MSC actions for current accounts or accounts created/edited prior to STEPP being offline will not be affected.
