Eligibility And Prerequisites

What are prerequisites and who is eligible?

In general, candidates are eligible to pursue SPeD certification if they are DOD personnel performing security enterprise functions, federal employees of a participating agency within the security workforce, or contractors assigned to a security position supporting DOD. Eligible candidates must meet outlined prerequisites based on the specific certification or credential they are pursuing. For example, an eligible candidate can pursue the SPIPC, SAPPC, SPSC, and ISOC only if they are currently SFPC certified. Adjudicators at agencies accepted to participate in the program must complete prerequisite training before they are eligible to take the APC and must obtain the APC prior to attempting the DPAPC. There is no specific prerequisite for the PSC, and only ATOs are eligible to pursue the ATC.
