New Role-Based Certifications to enhance your security knowledge, skills and abilities!
What are Role Based Certifications? SPēD Role-Based Certifications (RBCs) are a structured sequence of learning experiences designed to guide you from a starting point to a desired level of proficiency in a specific security discipline. It's a roadmap for acquiring security knowledge and skills through training, often encompassing various learning formats such as eLearning, and instructor-led training. RBCs build and validate the foundational competence needed to master a specific job role. An RBC is an integrated path that includes both training and assessments needed for the role, as well as maintenance requirements every two years to retain the RBC.
How are RBCs different than traditional SPēD Certifications? RBCs differ from traditional SPēD Certifications in one fundamental way; RBC are based on achieving training objectives while SPēD Certifications were training agnostic, which means they were based on the body of security knowledge a security professional should know, not what they were trained on.
Who can take RBCs? Any US Government civilians, US military personnel and defense contractors in support of security are eligible to take to take RBCs.
How do I maintain my RBC Certification? Once an RBC is earned the Certificant must submit Professional Development Units to maintain it within two years or complete another RBC. See Certification maintenance rules.
