Description: This course includes review of the regulatory basis for the Personnel Security Program (PSP) and the process to obtain favorable national security eligibility determination, also referred to as a Personnel Security Clearance (PCL). The course also describes entity and individual responsibilities in the eligibility determination process, as well as the basic and common functions of the Department of Defense (DOD) Personnel Security System of Record.

Learning Objectives: Students shall demonstrate a basic understanding of the PSP and PCL process for cleared contractors participating in the NISP They will also identify the responsibilities necessary to maintain a PCL and manage the PSP at a cleared contractor facility.

Length: 1.5 hours

Target Audience: The target audience is Facility Security Officers (FSO) at cleared DOD contractor sites participating in the NISP. Secondary audiences include other contractor security personnel, Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) Industrial Security Representatives (ISR), and DOD Industrial Security Specialists.
