Description: This course will provide students with an overview of the Department of Defense (DOD) Special Access Program (SAP) environment, including its history, purpose, life cycle, approval process, and roles and responsibilities.

  • Identify key SAP policy documents
  • Identify the categories and types of SAPs
  • Identify roles and responsibilities in the SAP approval process
  • Identify the steps in the SAP life cycle
  • Identify operations, oversight, and support roles and responsibilities

Target Audience: This course is open to civilian, military, and industry personnel assigned to a position providing support to or oversight of a Department of Defense (DOD) SAP, as well as personnel with little or no experience working with classified information. It is designed for the non-security professional as well as newly assigned security personnel.
