Description: This new online training course consolidates content from DAU-CLL032 “Preventing Counterfeit Electronic Parts from Entering the DOD Supply System” and DAU-CLL062“ Counterfeit Prevention Awareness,” both now retired, into a single streamlined learning asset. This course provides insights into the different types of commercial and industry nonconforming, suspect, and counterfeit items, how these items are entering into the commercial and DOD supply chains, the economic impact these items have, and how students can develop basic skills for identifying possible nonconforming and suspect counterfeit items. Emphasis is placed on electronic items. Students will also learn how to mitigate the risks involved in the procurement of counterfeit items and how to identify, report, quarantine and disposition suspect and confirmed counterfeit items.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the impacts of counterfeit materiel and its entry into the DOD supply chain. 
  • Recognize products at risk of counterfeiting and supply chain infiltration.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Electronics Standards, Regulations, and Reporting Requirements.
  • Recognize the use of Commercial Standards and Best Practices.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the concepts related to the identification and prevention of counterfeit materiel and its entry into the DOD supply chain.

  • Exam Requirements: A passing score of 80% on the final exam allows students to print a certificate of successful completion. Students will be allowed to take the exam three times after completing the course. If the student does not receive a passing score in their third attempt of the exam, the student will need to complete the course again before they may retake the exam.
