The SFPC provides a recognized and reliable indication of a security practitioner's understanding of foundational concepts, principles, and practices needed to successfully protect DOD assets. The SFPC was accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) in December 2012, and received re-accreditation in November 2018, demonstrating its continued compliance with NCCA standards.
SFPC Competency Preparatory Tools (CPTs)
All CPTs are now published in STEPP. An alternate resource that can be used to build your foundation and help prepare you for your SPēD certification assessment is the Defense Security Essential Body of Knowledge (D-SEBOK), which is currently available in STEPP via the search bar.
