Vigilance Resources

Instilling a sense of vigilance in the general workforce is a key component of an insider threat program, but how can you keep the message fresh outside of required annual training? Participating in National Insider Threat Awareness Month (NITAM) is a start, along with developing a vigilance campaign for your organization. Check out the vigilance tab of the insider threat toolkit, which has a variety of resources to help deploy messaging, awareness, and communications materials. These resources will help the general workforce recognize and respond to the insider threat throughout September and the rest of the year.

New Micro-Learns: "Espionage Target – You" And "Insider Threat: Resilience"

Counterintelligence and insider threats are often in the news.  While the adversaries may change, some of the methods used to gain our most vital secrets remain the same.  Watch this clip from “Espionage Target: You,” a U.S. Armed Forces training film from 1964.  More than half a century later, many of the collection methods identified are still in use, and these days, the target extends well beyond the DoD.

Resilience allows individuals to bounce back from setbacks and stressful situations.  Without this quality, some people may develop increased risks associated with an insider threat.  This animation demonstrates how building resilience helps individuals develop behaviors, thoughts, and actions that promote personal wellbeing and mental health.
