Cyber Standards Added To SPēD Assessments
The SPēD Certification Program was recently approved to include cyber standards in its Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) and Security Asset Protection Professional Certification (SAPPC) assessments and will implement these changes in late 2017. The Program will also update the SPēD Certification Program Candidate Handbook and Competency Preparatory Tools (CPTs) for each assessment to reflect these new standards. Getting Started Seminar for New FSOs, March 7-8, 2017 (Menlo Park, CA)
This course is open to Facility Security Officers (FSOs) and Assistant Facility Security Officers (AFSOs), Security Specialists, and anyone employed in the security environment (such as Human Resources, Administrative Assistants, Program Managers, and Military Members exiting the various Armed Services). Due to the expansion of the counterintelligence block, this course is now extended to two full days. A prerequisite course titled “FSO Role in the NISP” is required for seminar registration and must have been completed after November 23, 2015.
