CDSE Launches NISP Security Violations and Administrative Inquiries Course
The Center for Development of Security Excellence (CDSE) has released the “NISP Security Violations and Administrative Inquiries” eLearning course. This one hour course covers security violations and administrative inquiries, including the types of security violations, roles and responsibilities in handling them, and the administrative inquiry process. The target audience includes DSS Industrial Security Representatives (IS Reps), DSS Industrial Security Systems Professionals (ISSPs), DSS Counterintelligence (CI) Personnel, DSS Industrial Security Headquarters Personnel, and other DoD Security Specialists with Industrial Security responsibilities. CDSE Releases New Industrial Security For Non-Security Government Personnel Curriculum
CDSE has released the new “Industrial Security for Non-Security Government Personnel” curriculum (IS230.CU). This 16 hour curriculum provides non-security government personnel the foundational basis for an industrial security program participating in the National Industrial Security Program (NISP). Topics covered include risk management concepts, key industrial security principles, roles, responsibilities, concepts, processes, systems, and databases.
This curriculum is intended for the non-security government specialist such as contracting, acquisition, administration personnel, etc. participating in the NISP. Access this new curriculum.
CDSE Introduces Four New Industrial Security Courses Developed For the Government Security Specialist
CDSE has launched four new Industrial Security courses developed specifically for the government security specialist. The four courses include:
- Industrial Security Basics (IS122.16)
- Acquisition & Contracting in the NISP (IS123.16)
- Clearances in the NISP: Putting it All Together (IS125.16)
- Industrial Security Databases and Systems (IS124.16)

- “Getting Started Seminar for New FSOs,” March 30 - 31, 2016 (Chantilly, VA)
This course is open to Facility Security Officers (FSOs) and Assistant Facility Security Officers (AFSOs), Security Specialists, and anyone employed in the security environment (such as Human Resources, Administrative Assistants, Program Managers, and Military Members exiting the various Armed Services). Due to the expansion of the counterintelligence block, this course is now extended to two full days. To register for this seminar, students must have taken the prerequisite course “FSO Role in the NISP” after November 23, 2015. Review desired course description for facility clearance requirement.
