All of the CDSE education courses have been evaluated by the American Council on Education (ACE) for credit recommendations. The ACE College Credit Recommendation Service (CREDIT) connects CDSE workplace learning with colleges and universities by helping employees gain access to academic credit for formal courses and examinations taken outside traditional degree programs. ACE credit recommendations allow students to transfer credit earned from approved courses toward completion of degree programs. CDSE course credit recommendations are listed in the ACE National Guide.

Professional Development Units

Students who successfully pass CDSE Education courses will earn 45 Professional Development Units (PDUs), as determined by the Department of Defense, Defense Security Training Council (DSTC), toward maintenance of Security Professional Education Development (SPēD) Program certification.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) provide a standard unit of measurement for continuing education and training (CE/T). One CEU equals ten contact hours of participation in an organized CE/T experience, delivered under responsible sponsorship, capable direction and qualified instruction. Students who successfully pass CDSE Education courses will earn 16 CEUs per class, as described by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET).
